Educational and life experiences.
I received my Doctorate in Psychology from William James College. My studies in Clinical Psychology included a specialization in Health Psychology. I completed my doctoral internship and fellowship through Cambridge Hospital Couples and Family Clinic, a Harvard University affiliate. In addition, I trained at McLean Hospital - Franciscan Children's Hospital.
For over 10 years, I was a therapist at Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC). I have also been a clinical supervisor, providing guidance to postdoctoral students and predoctoral students at the clinic. At LCHC, I have been part of a team providing integrated care. Working closely with Primary Care Physicians and other providers has allowed me to help clients more thoroughly address their challenges. Prior to graduate school, I worked in Child Welfare. This experience gave me an in-depth understanding of the challenges that face parents and educators. In addition, I worked with many older children working to establish their own sense of identity. Finally, college and high school experiences provided me with opportunities to live abroad. Becoming fluent in Spanish as well as experiences living in other countries provided me with an understanding of the varied perspectives that exist in the world. |
